The library might just be one of the greatest places on Earth. I have been borrowing piles of children’s books for fun & research. It seems that many of my favourites are by a single author/illustrator. Not so strange, since the relationship between image and text in picture books is so intimate. I am in complete admiration of a book called “jellybeans” by Sylvia van Ommen. Sending work to publishers is an intimidating process, so I am trying to comfort myself with the thought of Sylvia likely being in my situation not so long ago.

So, turns out my friend was very pleased with the watercolour I posted last time. I actually decided to change the title to “Bare”, though. It’s pouring rain today, so I am planning to spend most of my day at home drawing and painting. Nice way to spend a Monday.

Just finished this little watercolour called “Snow”, 13″x13″. I did it with a friend in mind who has been waiting for a piece from me. Wonder if she’ll think it’s worth the wait!
