I was contacted recently by the woman who purchased “Tiny Bluet” oh-so-long-ago from the BC Women’s Hospital auction, and she has commissioned a couple canvases from me! I am still working on them, but hope to be able to post one soon. Until then, here are a couple sketches from my trip to Gibsons. While sketching my foot, I realized just what stubby little toes I have. A proud moment.

I spent part of last week in Gibson’s Landing on the Sunshine Coast. It was a solo trip, so I just did a lot of sketching, reading, looking and walking. It was lovely. Canada sure redeems itself in the summer.

Here’s the other project I have been working on. I couldn’t post it until today, since it was a gift for a couple that just got married this past Saturday. Hopefully they have opened their presents! He restores vintage scooters and they even had a scooter that looked a lot like this as part of their wedding decorations. How serendipitous!

Here’s one of the projects I mentioned. This piece is 12 x 16″. It was a gift for my dear friend’s wedding shower. Next weekend is her big day! I wanted to give her something a little different from my recent paintings. There are an especially high number of layers on this piece, and I’m pretty pleased with how it turned out.
