I just finished a project that I am hoping to have some good news about soon… keep checking back!
I was tagged by very talented crafter and hairstylist,Jenn Conway, last week and I finally have a chance to attend to it! Here are the rules…..1. Link to your tagger and post these rules.2. Share 7 facts about YOU: some random, some weird…all devastatingly interesting.3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post and list their names (linking to them).4. Let them know they’ve been tagged by leaving a comment at their blogs.
Facts About Me:
1. After living in Taiwan for 2.5 years, I can speak, read, and write Mandarin, but the French I studied throughout my public schooling is now limited to the words I know from food packages.
2. My first crush was David Bowie…in Labyrinth. If you’ve seen it, you’ll know how embarrassing that is.
3. Like Jenn, I have weird thumbs. Mine don’t look like big toes, but they are completely straight. Not a bit of bend back. So much for hitchhiking.
4. I am obsessively organized. You name it, if it’s in my house I can tell you where it is.
5. One of my favourite moments teaching kids was when a little boy showed me his drawing of a figure with long arms and huge fists. I asked him to tell me the story behind it and he explained that this was Mr. Earthquake, he punches the ground with his huge fists and makes it shake! How awesome is that?!
6. I really like reading Shakespeare. One of my favourite lines is “our doubts are those that make us lose the good we oft might win by fearing to attempt”.
7. In the first year of my visual arts degree, I was so frustrated by a monochrome painting assignment that I cut out a square from a blue plastic recycling bin and handed it in as my finished piece.
Ta-da! And now the chain of tagging continues…
1. Jesse Magee – the most readable random blog out there, but I will admit my bias
2. Tara Thomson – a slacker genius, with emphasis on the genius
3. Design*Sponge – a beautiful blog of all things design. Each sneak peek into someone’s house makes me want to revamp my whole place
4. Alex Noriega – such a talented artist & illustrator with a really interesting process
5. Dan Bob Thompson – great 50′s style!
I already feel like I am imposing on a few of these people, so that’s all I am going to post!
Buzz buzz. I am one busy bee. I am working on a large project that I will hopefully be able to post in a few weeks. Meanwhile: work, class, and back to Arts Umbrella (as a teacher this semester!). Buzzzz….

Here is the second of the two commissions I mentioned earlier. This is for a little boy who really likes trains. It was a challenge to work on a painting with such a range of colours and detail, I sure hope it’s well received. The piece is 14 x 18″.
